Le Baccanti supports cultural awareness from Italy to NYC

Le Baccanti increasingly ties its activities to initiatives of cultural and social value, sensitive to the need to support the Italian artistic heritage and the right to live in dignity for every citizen.

In November 2012 Le Baccanti planned an event side by side with the RF Kennedy Foundation for women victims of violence and in support of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Next to Le Baccanti were prominent wine makers like Arnaldo Caprai, Planeta and Badia di Morrona. These wine makers donated wine to the Gala dinner for 200 people.

The Gala Dinner
Thanksgiving weekend, the RFKennedy Foundation organized a series of events throughout Tuscany.

In the new Opera House in Florence, guests were able to attend the dress rehearsal of Turandot the Maggio Musicale Orchestra conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta.
For more generous supporters, there was the Gala dinner and charity auction held in the theater.
25 lots were up for bit to raise funds, among which included exclusive photograph of Harry Benson, the baton of Zubin Mehta, opera tickets and many others.

Kerry Kennedy, RFK Foundation President and Francesca Colombo, curator and artistic director of the teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino led the evening in grace.
But the biggest character of the evening was definitely the Maestro Zubin Mehta, not only because of his extraordinary talent, but also his charisma, humor and sympathy in all of his speeches during dinner increased the value of the auction!

A special thanks is to Aminatou Haidar, who risks his life to defend civil and political rights in Western Sahara, and to Marina Pisklakova, President of ANNA for prevention of domestic violence against women.
